This is how the place where Mill Creek conjoins Salmon Creek behind my house looked in February.
And this is how it looks today. The alders -- the trees in the foreground -- blossomed in May (mass quantities of pollen that made my eyes itch and swell). The little peninsula in the background where the creeks come together is now covered with tall green grass, and the water level is so low that the rocks on the creek bed are exposed and dry.
